The last conversation we shared Had a million things to cover. I forgot to say I cared. Mom understands. She knows I love her. My mom must know I love her, Though we’re busy and far apart. She feels it -- she knows I’m sure Of deep devotion in my heart. The last time we met, we two Talked til the moon turned dapple-gray. I forgot to say, “I love you.” Mom understands. I forget that way. I’ve told her before. She knows The great joy she brought with her stay, How love for her grows and grows. ….. But I’ll tell her again today. |
